Gros Morne National Park

UNESCO World Heritage Site !

Gros Morne National Park, an 1805 sq. km park, is a must for its spectacular and varied geography and great natural beauty offering an abundance of wildlife, scenery and activities !

Designated a United Nations World Heritage Site because of its glacial and geologic history in 1987. This spectacular landscape was created by the grinding action of glaciers on the ancient Long Range Mountains.

Set aside as a National Park in 1973, Gros Morne is popular with hikers who enjoy the wild, uninhabited mountains and camp areas by the sea.

Explore the colourful culture of nearby seaside communities, soaring fjords and moody mountains tower above a diverse panorama of beaches and bogs, forests and barren cliffs ! Shaped by colliding continents and grinding glaciers. Wander coastal pathways and beachcomb among sea stacks. Spot moose and caribou, hike to alpine highlands where Arctic hare and ptarmigan thrive on tundra !
