Twillingate, one of Newfoundland’s most popular destinations on Canada’s north east coast, famous for delivering ocean experiences!
Imagine… yourself seated on a patch of long grass, looking out over the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Over the waves as the light from the setting sun reflects off the side of a 10,000-year-old iceberg !
One of the stops along Iceberg Alley, Twillingate is a vast corridor of ocean that runs from Greenland and a popular path for these frozen leviathans. Town of 2,196 people located on the Twillingate Islands in Notre Dame Bay, off the north eastern shore of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town is about 100 kilometres north of Lewisporte and Gander.
This is a delightful spot and worth spending a couple of hours exploring. Scenically it is as good as Gros Morne. Make sure you stop off in Lark Harbour for Marlaine’s Tidewater Cafe.
