If you have never visited Gatineau Park, the best place to start is the Visitor Centre, located in Old Chelsea.
Gatineau Park is the National Capital Region’s conservation park, with is a 361 square kilometres wedge of land extending north and west from the city of Gatineau and is a place of rich and unique biodiversity.

Gatineau Park’s vast territory is divided into several sectors, one of which is accessible from downtown Ottawa–Gatineau, and each of which feature various points of interest and historical places. Unlike other national parks, this park has several entry points, and some roads through it, leading to the northern and western sectors.
There is no entrance fee for Gatineau Park. However, there is a fee to access some parking lots and trails, depending on the time of year.
